New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has activated tight end Juwan Johnson from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, signed cornerback Joejuan Williams and waived/injured center Sincere Haynesworth.
Williams, 6-3 212, arrives in New Orleans after spending the 2023 season with the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings. In five seasons with the New England Patriots, Chicago and Minnesota, Williams has played in 42 games with one start, recording 39 tackles (26 solo), ten pass breakups and six special teams stops. In six games last season (four with Chicago, two with Minnesota), the Nashville, Tenn. native made two tackles and added two pass breakups. Williams was originally drafted by New England in the second round (45th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Vanderbilt University. With the Commodores, Williams played in 36 career games over three seasons and posted 119 tackles, four interceptions, 30 pass breakups and one forced fumble.
