The New Orleans Saints and Verizon Wireless teamed up to perform "Random Acts of Kindness" throughout the Crescent City on Tuesday.
DE Alex Brown, C Jonathan Goodwin, TE Tyler Lorenzen, P Thomas Morstead, OT Jon Stinchcomb and Team Ambassador Michael Lewis spent their afternoon brightening the day of fans across the city.
First, the Saints stopped at Chevron on Airline Drive and handed out $15 gas cards to customers at each pump.
The black and gold crew then traveled to Crescent House, a shelter for battered women and children, to deliver supplies and sign autographs for residents.
The group's third stop took place at McDonald's on South Carrollton Avenue where Verizon covered everybody's tab in the restaurant. Brown and Lewis took drive-through orders, Goodwin and Lorenzen handled the front counter while Morstead and Stinchcomb greeted customers.
The Saints then headed to Wal-Mart where each Saint walked around the store handing out $25 gift cards that were purchased by Verizon.
The "Random Acts of Kindness" crew's final stop was at the Verizon store on Citrus Boulevard where the players posed for photographs and signed autographs.
"This is my second time doing an event like this with Verizon and it is a great experience," said Brown. "It should be something every team should do three to four times a year. It's a great way to thank our fans."
