The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles has confirmed there are a few thousand Louisiana license plates commemorating the Saints' 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV still available.
The specially created New Orleans Saints "World Champions" license plates are available at Louisiana Offices of Motor Vehicles and currently only available to Louisiana residents.
The license plate features a white background with the Saints' "Old Gold" bordering the top third of the plate with the Saints' trademarked logo, the Fleur-de-Lis, in the upper left-hand corner. Below the license plate serial numbers are the black and boldfaced words "World Champions" with the Super Bowl XLIV official logo interspaced in-between the words.
"New Orleans Saints fans in Louisiana have inquired about a special license plate for many, many years," said Saints Owner Tom Benson. "We are proud and honored to offer Louisiana residents this wonderful opportunity to display their support for our team and the great state of Louisiana, and at the same time, celebrate the first Super Bowl in the team's history."
"New Orleans Saints fans are among the most loyal in professional sports and we have worked closely with the state of Louisiana to offer this new license plate for our fans," said Saints Owner/Executive Vice President Rita Benson LeBlanc. "These license plates offer a great way to show your passion for the Saints and the state of Louisiana."
Standard yearly prestige license plate fees of $25 will apply for ownership of the Saints' Commemorative edition plate with an additional minimal service charge of $3.50 upon sale of the license plate.
