On Friday, April 8, the New Orleans Saints hosted approximately 700 students from the Academy of Sacred Heart's 2011 Saints/Academy of Sacred Heart Field Day.
Sacred Heart spirit was present throughout the grounds on Friday for the event. Upon entering the facility from Airline Drive, the school's mascot welcomed students and parents driving to the event, pointing them in the right direction.
After all of the students had arrived at the club's facility from their Uptown New Orleans campus, Saints Director of Youth Programs Jason Trosclair spoke to the students about the importance of academics, as well as athletics. Those in attendance then got to see the Super Bowl XLIV trophy.
Following the introduction, the students that ranged from grades 1-12, broke out into different groups and with the exception of a lunch break, participated in various activities for four hours. In addition to the typical field day competitions, which took place both inside the club's indoor facility and on outdoor fields, the students also participated in a Junior Training camp, used Saints Experience inflatables and took part in some football-specific drills.
