New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has signed defensive back Tre Herndon and running back Jordan Mims to the practice squad and terminated the practice squad contract of center Sincere Haynesworth.

Herndon, 5-11, 185, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018 out of Vanderbilt. Over six seasons, he has played in 83 regular season games with 34 starts for the Jaguars and has career totals of 233 tackles (180 solo), one sack, three interceptions, 32 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and ten special teams stops. In 2023, Herndon played in 16 regular season games with four starts for the Jaguars and recorded 45 tackles (30 solo), one forced fumble, nine pass breakups and one special teams stop. In two postseason contests for Jacksonville in 2022, he recorded five solo tackles. The Detroit, Mich. native went to training camp with the New York Giants in 2024.

Mims, 6-0, 205, had appeared in six games for the Saints in 2024 on offense and special teams and carried five times for 16 yards, caught two passes for 13 yards and made one special teams stop. After originally signing with Buffalo following the 2023 NFL Draft out of Fresno State, Mims spent the majority of his rookie season on the Saints practice squad and appeared in two games, posting one coverage tackle. At Fresno State (2017-22), he rushed 679 times for 3,285 yards (4.8 avg.), ranked fourth on the school's all-time list, with 37 touchdowns and also caught 91 passes for 971 yards (10.7 avg.) with eight touchdowns. In 2022, Mims earned first-team All-Mountain West Conference honors with 261 carries for 1,372 yards (5.3 avg.) with 18 touchdowns and added 21 receptions for 126 yards and one touchdown. The Atherton, Calif. native became the first Bulldog to top the 1,000 yards rushing mark since 2014.
