New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Saturday that the club has signed tackle Chandler Brewer. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:
1. Brewer was signed by the Los Angeles Rams in 2019 as an undrafted free agent. He appeared in seven games during his rookie season. After missing the 2020 season, he played in six games for the Rams in 2021, starting four. Most recently, he played in one game for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023.
2. Brewer attended Middle Tennessee State University for all four years. During his senior season, he started in all 14 games, averaging 67 snaps per game. He earned First Team All-C-USA honors for his play in 2018.
3. In his junior year with the Blue Raiders, he became a permanent team captain and was named Honorable Mention All-C-USA. He also earned the Offensive Lineman Grinder Award in the spring of 2017.
4. The Florence, Alabama native majored in Agriculture Business during his time at Middle Tennessee State.
5. In high school, Brewer was a three-year letterman and starter in football that helped lead Florence High School to an 11-3 record and a spot in the semifinals of the state championship during his senior year. That season, he earned second-team all-state honors by the ASWA.
