Five Things to Know about Saints cornerback Kaleb Ford-Dement

Undrafted free agent joins Saints after spending offseason with Patriots

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Tuesday that the club has signed cornerback Kaleb Ford-Dement. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

1. Ford-Dement joins the Saints after initially signing with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft.

2. The cornerback finished his collegiate career at Texas State where he played in all 13 games (11 starts) and tallied 32 tackles (21 solo), 3.0 TFLs and 1.0 sack. His three interceptions and seven pass breakups were the second highest totals for the Bobcats and his interceptions and tackles were both career highs.

3. Ford-Dement also attended and played for Washington State (2021-2022), Old Dominion (2019-2020) and Kilgore College (2017-2018).

4. In 2019 at Old Dominion, Ford-Dement had a standout season and was named All-Conference USA Second Team. He played in all 12 games with 10 starts. His 13 pass breakups were tied for second in the conference and 10th in the FBS as well as set the Old Dominion single season record. He also added 26 tackles and two interceptions.

5. Ford-Dement played one season of high school football at Whitehouse High School in his hometown of Whitehouse, Texas. As a senior in 2016, he accrued 41 tackles (33 solo), two interceptions and 1.0 sack in 11 games as well as added two catches for 99 yards and a touchdown. He also played special teams, posting 120 kick return yards and a touchdown.
