New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Thursday that the club has signed cornerback Mac McCain. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. McCain has appeared in two games with the Philadelphia Eagles, recording two tackles (one solo) and a special teams stop. McCain has spent time in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers, Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos.
  2. McCain joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina A&T. He appeared in 29 games over three seasons with the Aggies, accumulating 13 tackles (87 solo), eight interceptions, 22 passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
  3. McCain was able to find the end zone during his time with the Aggies, running four interceptions back for touchdowns including two returns of 100+ yards.
  4. The Greensboro, North Carolina native attended James B. Dudley High School where he racked up 96 tackles over his junior and senior seasons for the Panthers in addition to forcing two fumbles and tallying 14 passes defensed.
  5. McCain is the grandson of Franklin McCain who is one of the "Greensboro Four," a group of four North Carolina A&T students who staged a lunch counter sit-in at a F. W. Woolworth Company store on Feb. 1, 1960, an important moment in civil rights history.
