New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Thursday that the club has signed safety Roderic Teamer. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. Teamer joins the Saints after spending the last three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. He played in 33 games with the team, starting five of them, and racked up 63 tackles (42 solo) in his time with the franchise. Teamer will join former Raiders teammates quarterback Derek Carr, tight end Foster Moreau, safety Johnathan Abram, quarterback Nathan Peterman, defensive tackle Kendal Vickers, tackle Justin Herron and tight end Jesper Horsted on the Saints.
  2. Teamer signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He appeared in seven games in his rookie season, tallying 40 tackles (30 solo) as well as an interception and sack.
  3. The New Orleans native played four years for Tulane University. He played in 46 contests for the Green Wave, tallying 197 tackles (128 solo), three sacks, three interceptions, 15 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and blocked two kicks.
  4. In 2018, Teamer was named Second-Team All-American Athletic Conference as the Green Wave advanced to the Cure Bowl during his senior season. Teamer, who was a team captain, tallied five tackles (three solo) helping Tulane to their first postseason victory in sixteen years for the program with a 41-24 victory over the University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
  5. Teamer attended Brother Martin High School where he lettered three years for the Crusaders playing linebacker and safety. He helped lead the Crusaders to the state playoffs twice, tallying 280 career tackles. He was also named first-team All-District 9-5A in each of his final two prep seasons.
